Veneers are dental restorations which cover only the front, visible surface of the tooth. They are used for correcting esthetic imperfections. In order to place a veneer, the tooth needs to be reduced minimally (only 0.3 – 0.5 mm). However, ultrathin, “No-Prep” veneers do not require drilling at all. Sanja Vuic Private Dental Practice uses IPS Empress “No-Prep” veneers.

During the first appointment, our doctors will thoroughly examine your oral cavity. This initial examination is a crucial step towards creating your ideal smile. In some cases, the patient is advised to take a panoramic radiograph which is used to determine their periodontal status and exclude any kind of pathological process in the region of their tooth roots. After a consultation and a checkup, our doctors will take a series of photographs in order to compare the current status with the end result. Depending on the situation in your oral cavity, we might suggest an additional procedure which would complete your new smile, such as sandblasting and calculus removal, teeth whitening or laser gingivectomy.
After the initial examination, veneers are usually placed in two to three dental visits. During the second visit, teeth are reduced and a dental impression is made using precise and gentle materials. Temporary veneers are made to protect the reduced teeth from hot and cold stimuli.
After the technician makes the veneers, you need to try them on. If you are satisfied with their color and appearance, they are permanently cemented during the same visit.
You are more than welcome to participate in the creation of your veneers with your wishes and comments during the entire procedure!
Once the veneers have been cemented, it is important to visit your dentist regularly in order to monitor their appearance and the overall health of your oral cavity. Their durability is estimated to around 5 years, but with proper oral hygiene and regular checkups, they can last significantly longer. Clean your veneers just like you clean the rest of your teeth – apart from regular and conscientious brushing and flossing, you won’t need any special methods or products to take care of them. However, while brushing your teeth, pay special attention to dental cervixes and interdental gaps.
