Teeth cleaning and polishing

Regular tartar removal is extremely important in avoiding periodontal diseases! The procedure involves a painless and quick removal of stains, plaque, or tartar using ultrasound technology, followed by Prophyflex sandblasting/polishing.

Some indications for treatment

• Supragingival tartar
• Subgingival tartar
• Stains from coffee, tea, or cigarettes

Solid buildup is removed using an ultrasonic device, whose vibrations clean teeth quickly and painlessly. If the patients wishes, the entire treatment can be performed under local anesthesia. After the tartar is removed, teeth are polished with a special polishing tool – a Prophyflex sandblaster. Fine powder particles are propelled by compressed air, and plaque and pigmentation are mechanically removed from the surface of the teeth.
